Perhaps we should stop worrying about what happens after life and start worrying what happens during?

Religous is great as a comforting bed time story but when a bed time story causes people who are living in real life to be hurt, prosecuted, tortured, and killed shouldn't we just give it up? Please do not say something like religion does not cause wars but people do. That statement makes absolutely no sense...Why the F%$& would a guy ram himself into a tower with intentions to kill himself and as many other's as possible if he did not think he would get some sort of reward afterwards. Why would a man kill as many people as possible of the opposite religous beliefs(hitler) if he did not think he was justified in serving the christian lord? Why would thousands of people rashly gather up armies to storm the walls of jerusalem and most likely give up the lives of their countrymen? How do think they got people to participate, asking them nicely or installing ficticious religous beliefs in a hoarde of people that best served their politcal ambitions. Think about what religion is. control?
