My philips magnavox stopped working itz plugged in then when i go to turn it on it wont turn on anymore?

is there something i should look at to see if it works or is damaged?? i have tried opening it up and looking inside for something broken or a lose screw or something unattached but i didn't find anything don't know what to do so if you have any suggestions that would help alot
