If someone you respected and admired thought you were a complete idiot , how do you handle it?

I'd lose my respect for them because I respect people who can respect my opinions and my ideas as well as their own. If somebody makes me out to be an idiot for listening to a band they don't like or having a different political stance on a subject, then I don't need them. I don't care if they don't agree, but if they are making you look like an idiot, then I would move on because I don't need that.
