Im really confused.....?

2 months ago i started at a new school in the middle of the year. I met a kid, lets call him C who goes to my swim place. About a mont ago C started acting like he likes me 75% of the time. At first it was just at swimming but now he does it a little at school too. Tons of people tell me C acts like he likes me but then sometimes he stops acting like it. Also when people ask if we are going out or say we should go out C is clear that we are not going out and its a bad idea. There is a joke between a bunch of kids in my calsses that i am "going out wit" this really wired kid who always flirts wit and stalks me. C always makes fun of me 4 it but in a teasing way because he knows i would never go out wit the guy. And about a month and a half ago C told me who he likes but idk if he still likes her. Finally i have seen him act the way he acts toward me 2 other girls but he doesnt do it as much to them. Sometimes i think he doesnt like me but then he starts flirting like crazy with me and it gets confusing. What do you guys think?
